Mission Statement

We like Daleks, here at Project Dalek. We like them a lot. We want more Daleks in this world. We don't really care what size they are - scale models or full-size Daleks. We don't care if they are 'real' or CG renders. So long as they are Daleks we are happy.

Are you ready to take the plunge and build a Dalek? If so, Project Dalek is the place for you. We have free, downloadable plans for every major Dalek type. All the plans are the result of many years of research and development and are, without doubt, the most accurate and comprehensive you will find online (or anywhere else).

We also have a wealth of information which can be used alongside the plans to help you along with your build. The information held within our members' Build Diaries, over on the Project Dalek Forum is indispensable. This valuable resource contains the answer to just about every Dalek-building question that you're likely to come up with. Project Dalek is also the home of the Dalek Builder's Workshop Manual, the Dalek builder's bible. It contains everything you need to know about how to construct a full-size Dalek, brought together into one document.

With a Project Dalek membership and the Dalek Builder's Workshop Manual, you'll have access to everything you need to get started. Once you've joined the Project Dalek Forum and started your Dalek, please consider giving something back by posting a Build Diary of your own. A Build Diary will showcase your progress to other members and maybe help out new builders in the future.

Remember, at Project Dalek, we are 'hardcore' Dalek builders. We don't 'do' general Doctor Who topics and we don't 'do' Dalek fiction. For us, it's the actual Dalek props that matter.

If this is the first time you've ever thought about building a Dalek, then you've come to the right place. Many members have had the dream of building their very own Dalek prop since they were children. We are here to help you realise that dream. Building a full-size Dalek may seem like a daunting task, but by breaking it down into sections and being methodical, it is possible for most people with basic DIY skills to build a really impressive and convincing Dalek replica.

Project Dalek also offers information, help and support for those who wish to build smaller scale Dalek models, either from scratch or by using commercially available kits. While our Dalek plans have their measurements at full size, it is a fairly easy task to divide the dimensions in order to use them to create some really great scale models. Virtual Daleks

Virtual Daleks

You don't have to build Daleks in the real world to be part of Project Dalek. Many of our members build their Daleks virtually, as computer models which are then placed in various virtual environments to create dramatic scenes.

The computer models they use are often built using the standard plans as reference. However, some of our members like to experiment and branch out, modifying the plans designs, creating Dalek variations of their own.
